That’s me!

What did you do this past week?

This past week I met up with my group for the IDB1 project. We came up with the idea of exploring various foods in different cities across the United States to educate the public about the various cultures present across the country. In other worlds, I was able to catch up on classwork for other classes.

What’s in your way?

Right now, it is slightly difficult to find APIs with adequate data which we need for our project. There is a multitude of APIs available out there and finding the right one which is fitting for our particular need is hard. Hopefully we will get through this hurdle fairly quickly!

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will continue to work with my group and hopefully finish the first phase of the project as it is due next week. Moreover, we will hopefully have the 14 pages up and running by then. In other worlds, I will continue to catch up on classwork for my other classes.

If you read it, what did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle? (this question will vary, week to week)

I was fairly familiar with the Single Responsibility Principle reading as I took Object Oriented Programming last semester but it was definitely worth reading a second time! I believe that Single Responsibility Principle allows for code to be much more modular and allows for not only easy readability but also the opportunity for code to be reused easily.

What was your experience of IDB1 and reduce? (this question will vary, week to week)

Reduce was a new concept to me as I have never encountered that in Python before. It was definitely worth going over and I will be sure to use that in my programs as I continue to write code throughout the future. The IDB1 project seemed extremely interesting and I am excited to bring some ideas to fruition with this project!

How did you fare in the storm?

While I did lose water and electricity for a brief moment, I was able to make it out fairly unscathed! Luckily one of my friends did have water and they were kind enough to provide me with it when needed.

What made you happy this week?

This week, seeing the UT community really come together cheered me up! To see that there is a large network of students out there who do care about other students made me especially happy this week!

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week this week would be RapidAPI! RapidAPI is a website which consists of various APIs which can be used for side projects or other purposes. Make sure to check it out!
